After watching her speech last night for the Democratic Convention......well, I have to say that THERE IS ALWAYS A GOOD WOMAN BEHIND A SUCCESSFUL MAN!!! And Barack, you better take note and listen.........SHE'S ONE SMART AND POISED COOKIE!!!! I have to admit, I was in awe of her prose and intellect........she had me mesmerised! And of course, she even made the point about this week being the 88th Anniversary of Women Having the Right to Vote! GOOD ONE!!! Less they forget.......that's how all those Dems are getting in office is because of the women; and she also gave a shout out to Hillary and I admire her for that! Hillary did pave the way for women and our future daughters; without what Hillary achieved, it would still be tabu for a woman to even be CONSIDERED for the ticket!!! So again, HAIL HILLARY!!!!

Going to the homeland.......

Sally got her groove on this weekend with a little trip to a Cougar friends' homeland in Eastern Arkansas.....and if I can just say for minute, it was quite interesting.......between cocktails and cigars, we had very intelligent conversation while our driver showed us thru the rice fields. It's amazing how big the mosquitoes are in that part of Arkansas; we sized them up about as big as a humming bird! You don't want to step out long in the outside world of crop lands; yet the beauty of it all, in it's own right, is breath taking. I can't imagine growing up in that type of climate or scenic landscape; I'm used to rolling hills and vast forest! Yet, I felt a connection to the land; like something to the past; I don't know if maybe I was channelling someone from my past ancestry or what, but I felt moved by the silos, combines, crop dusters and irrigation canals.......being a child and being raised by a farmer in the 60's or 70's probably would have been a hard, but wonderful life; especially if you had like 2000 acres or so crop land and a nanny to boot! Riding thru the fields with daddy and stepping out in the rice fields to check the plume on the rice would have been a great treat for any little daddy's girl........

OLYMPIC THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK.......

THANKS TO "ROSE" FOR THIS WONDERFUL WORK OF ART............Rose is a wonderful "Cougar" with great taste for swimmers.........and I, for one, thought this was most appropriate for the week. And by the way, Rose has this thing for guys in speedos.........don't ask me why, but she does.......I love Rose!

Christina's A Strong Person.....My kinda gal........

Christina told ABC's Good Morning America this week that she was recovering from a double mastectomy and will undergo reconstructive surgery over the next eight months. She says she's gonna have perky boobies when she's 90! I think she's got a strong spirit and a good attitude....I know it had to be a rough decision, but some people gotta do what they've gotta do. She had an MRI and that's how they found the cancer.....I'm think'n that my Cougar Club is going to take a road trip and do something like this all together for our yearly exam! One of those Women's Breast Centers may be the ticket; and the MRI may just be the thing.....I'm tired of the ol' yearly smash, bang, throw 'em up into the ol' neanderthal remedy I've been going thru for years....I'm start'n to doubt that whole process.....Good luck Christina! You're setting an example for us all.......

ANOTHER UNNECESSARY DEATH: GWATNEY LAID TO REST MONDAY.........

Yesterday, many people gathered at Pulaski Heights United Methodists Church in Little Rock, Ar. to lay to rest the slain Democratic Chairman, Bill Gwatney. Just look at him.......48 years old! A cougar's dream!! A very handsome man and very successful business man, in his own right, to say the least. In his 48 years he had accomplished so much; was owner of 3 General Motors dealer ships; was a state Senator for Arkansas for 10 years; and was just appointed as the Democratic Chairman for the party last year. He was gunned down in the offices of the Democratic Headquarters earlier last week for some unnecessary reason, that still baffles law enforcement to date. I'm not even going to even give any of time or effort to writing about the shooter, because, as far as I'm concerned, anyone that takes another life for no apparent reason, either out of jealousy, self absorbed reasons BEYOND "their control", or whatever they want to claim as their defense, is a chicken shit in my book. I guess I can't put it more "BLUNT" than that..........I'm sorry if I offend anyone with this word, but think about it, how offensive is it to take someones loved one in cold blood and for no reason.......even if they think there IS a reason in their sick head, (and I use the "sick" word loosely) whether it's because of a disgruntled work relationship, infidelity or whatever. But just out of COLD BLOOD? Nope...........justice will prevail and always does in the end........But it sure doesn't make it any easier for the loved ones left behind that want to know "WHY?".....................

DEBATE: TORRES' VS STEFFEN'S FINGERNAILS???

Well, well......what can we say. We gave it our best shot and if I say so myself, I think YOU did a FINE job representing the Cougars......As reported, Dara lost by just a hundredth of a second to Germany's Britta Steffen 24:06 to Torres' 24:07 by a FINGERTIP.......hummmmm.......(above LR: Torres, Steffen, Campbell) I'm gonna have to ponder this one. They were stroke for stroke; Steffen reached with her left hand, Torres with her right; Steffen got there first. O.K. My question is; Do they measure your fingers and or your fingernails???? Are you allowed a manicure before you swim?????? French tips???? or OPI Nail Polish???? or just a clear, acrylic overlay????? I've got questions here and I'm not being satisfied by these reports of Dara being beat by a "FINGER TIP"! Dara also came in second on the last leg of the relay to bring in the silver on that race, as well. I'm still givin' her props for putt'n it out there! And just for the record, if no one read my previous quote by Lil' Miss Kitten Cate Campbell from Australia when she made the statement that she didn't think she'd be competing when she was "THAT AGE"; well, the Australian Kitten claimed the Bronze with a sloppy 24:17. So, that goes to show ya that silver can still be gold when some 16 little ol' whipper snapper is talk'n smack and then pulls up the rear after the Cougar prevails!!! Kitten's got a LOT to learn.........

DARA PLAYS MOM AND STILL WINS

Well, today's the day......yes, I have been meditating this week and thinking of HIM. However, what full blown, red blooded American could NOT slip a peek and watch the U.S. perform for us this week. And I, for one, have slipped more than one, I admit.......I have loved the volleyball! Those girls are GREAT and I love the kinetics tape!!! SO FLASHY and SMART!!!! A girl's gotta take care of herself!!!! But of course, I've been waiting on my home girl, Dara.....and yes, she made us COUGARS, AGAIN.....PROUD!!!!!

Even though she was out dueled in her own heat of the 50 Freestyle by the little baby kitten, 16 year old Australian, Cate Campbell, she still qualified for the heat and will be swimming today. All the while, little Miss Cate is quoted as making quotes as saying "She's an amazing woman....."blah, blah, blah....(blow'n smoke, ya know), but then she makes a HORRIBLE SNAFU!!!! She basically jinxes herself by making this horrible statement "I can tell you I don't want to be competing when I'm 40." HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! Little Kitten gonna regret say'n that when she's all washed up (oh, I'm kill'n myself.......) when she's washing dishes at the age of 40 and about 200+!!!! Girl better back up on that statement REAL QUICK!!!!!!!

During the heat semi's, she was more concerned about Sweden's girl swimming because right before the heat was to begin, the girl's suit ripped.....and guess who was to Sweden's rescue?? DARA!!!! Yep, the momma instinct was taking care of the little cub that was needing a little fix.....I'm tell'n ya, these Cougars are super hero's!!!! (There ought to be a show called that, "Cougars.....Super Hero's!"

Anyway, back to Dara......gonna give her a big shout out tonight and hope for the best for her!! In fact, I'm gonna say a little prayer for her and hope that she full fills her goal at not only making her dream come true AGAIN, but puts a little spark back in us 40 plus Cougars. She has all ready proved that 40 is the new 30 in more ways than one!!!! And I, for one, say "Swim on Girl!!!" Good Luck Dara!!!!

John and Britney make a lovely pair......and on this HOTT day I thought it only fitting for me to share this with ya'll.......feeling a little hornery today! I guess it's the heat!!! Not wanting to do nothing and politics is really starting to be a pain in the ass to me!!! I'm sick of the mud slinging!!!! These guys are both starting to really piss me off because they're acting like two, two year olds! I need some inspiration and satisfaction and if this is what it's gonna take, then let me bask in it! Do ya'll watch Showtimes' "Weeds"???? Well, here's what i think we oughta do; I wish we could take both of the candidates, right now, and bend them over our knee like that Mexican Drug Lord did to Nancy the other night and spank them, bare bottomed, until welps come up on the behind!!!!! I'm tell'n ya, it'd do them both some good!!!! (and to tell ya the truth, you could tell Nancy liked it!!!) It would probably make the America a better place!!!!

"The Story of My Life"......I think I missed something......

I'M CRUSHED!!!! As I was drinking my coffee this morning and draggin on my Swisher Sweet (there's noth'n like a good cup of java and a good swisher on a early Moanday morn......)I'm watchin' this 52" Sony blaring something about John Edwards and some woman gett'n it on......I was dumbfounded; stunned! Have I been comatose for 3 days or what? I looked at my night guest that I allow to sit in the leather recliner to protect their manhood (a recliner seems to make a man feel like a man......ya know what I mean?) anyway, I say to him "WHAT IN THE HECK IS GO'N ON?????" And he says....." yeah, she was a blond!" YEAH.....SHE WAS A BLOND! Those words just really don't get it for me or answer my questions....I think I have a better answer......HE'S A MAN! (And I'm not gonna say that this is just limited to this gender for strayin') But, again, what was he thinking when he's running for a national seat and his wife is suffering from cancer??? Could he have not held it in his pants for just awhile longer until this madness was all over before he just jumped in, both feet and screwed the pooch...so to speak??? (because, darlin's; let's get real; she's no looker and why in the hell would he pick this out of the all the political groupies out there???) Unless...........there could be two scenarios here and here's one:
1. Has anyone read the book "The Story of My Life" by Jay McInerney.........evidently, she was one of the ones he based the book on.....seems like she's got the moves and grooves to tackle anything or anyone she wants when it comes to the party circuit......sounds like a FUN GIRL!!!!
2. Or, did he just need a shoulder to lean on and Ms. Hunter just HAPPENED to be there and listen when bad got bad; she was his rock? she was his ear? she was his everything that Mrs. Edwards' couldn't be while she was hooked up to the IV getting her Chemo????
I'm not passing judgement; I'm just appalled that I missed the Friday night confession......

08-08-08 LET'S TRY GOD TODAY INSTEAD OF THE OLYMPICS.......

I know.....you may think this is a little out of character for me today; however, it's been a wonderful morning, in some ways, and in some, it's been.......well, an eye opening experience. Today has marked an important day in my life in a few ways and I guess I have to owe it to our maker; the one above. So today, I'm posting for him, our Almighty Maker and hoping that everyone will walk with him today on their daily travels. We all can have victory with Him with us by our side and we all can be victors! I know the media is all up in arms over the Olympics starting and all of that hooplah; but I think it's a day in history that we should not forget. 08-08-08 will not come again for another 1000 years and with that, we should look to a higher place; and I really don't think a commercialized Olympic coverage, or a mud slinging campaign ad is something we need to ponder today. However, I do wish the Olympians good luck, and hopefully they will have HIM with them as well......I would like to close with a quote from Joshua, by Meyer;

I've just about had enough of this foolish behavior and I for one, as a voting American, am ready to turn John and Barack over to this Mexican, Mayor, Drug Lord and let him "TAP SOME ASS" just like he did to Nancy!!! Hey!!! If you don't watch Weeds from Showtime, then you're miss'n it!! What ya don't see in this video is that after the little spank'n, Nancy admires her welps in the privacy of her bedroom in the mirror on her shiny, tight little buttocks!!!! And frankly, I think she enjoyed the little lashing.....and with that, that says it all!!!! DISCIPLINE BOYS!!!!
