eBay fined for selling fake Louis Vuitton goods online

by Bertille Ossey-Woisard and Gaelle Geoffroy Mon Jun 30, 10:27 AM ET
PARIS (AFP) - "A French court on Monday ordered online auctioneer
eBay to pay nearly 40 million euros in damages to Louis Vuitton for selling fake luxury goods, in a ruling cheered as a victory for copyright protection. The Paris commercial court ruled in favour of six LVMH brands and also barred eBay from selling four perfumes -- Christian Dior, Kenzo, Givenchy and Guerlain -- on its websites.
The world's largest online auctioneer, eBay immediately announced it would lodge an appeal, rejecting the view that the court had upheld copyright law.
"This decision is not based on combating counterfeit material. It is based on LVMH's desire to protect its commercial practices and exclude competition," said a spokeswoman for eBay in Paris.LVMH, the world's leading luxury brand, was seeking 50 million euros in damages from US-based eBay Inc. and its Swiss subsidiary eBay AG for the auctions of fake goods and unauthorised sales of perfumes.
It had argued during the case that began a year and a half ago that eBay knowingly allowed the sales of counterfeit products such as handbags, lipstick, perfume and clothes on its website.
The court issued a cease and desist order to eBay, barring it from running ads for the perfume and cosmetic brands or face a fine of 50,000 euros per day.
The full text of the decision is to be posted on the eBay sites in English and French within the next three weeks, the court ordered.
The ruling came amid a flurry of legal action against the online giant, which claims to have some 84 million active users in 39 markets worldwide.
Three weeks ago, eBay was convicted by a French court of selling counterfeit goods and ordered to pay 20,000 euros in damages to French luxury group Hermes.
That court ruling, which marked a first in France, found eBay directly responsible for the sale on its website of three Hermes bags including two fakes, for a total of 3,000 euros.
France's traditional auctioneers took legal action against the eBay in December, accusing it of encouraging trade in pirated and stolen goods.
A council representing the auction industry also accuses the Internet trader of breaking a French law that requires all auctioneers to be approved by the state.
According to eBay, the total value of items sold on its trading platforms in 2007 was nearly 60 billion dollars."
I'm glad this is over.......you don't know how embarrassing this is to the couture world, not to mention when you're walking down the side walk and you know that "THEY" know that you have "ONE OF THOSE" purses........it brings a tear to my eye that the madness has finally stopped and we can all now go back to our regular lives......I'm going to hug my Kate Spade and hold her close as to know that her authentic loveliness is forever held special, closely in my heart! And for all you FAKERS OUT THERE, YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELVES!!!!!!!!!!

FROM WHOSE LOINS I SPRANG.........

LAST NIGHT I WAS TOTALLY
"EARED" DOWN BY
THE MASTER......AND
That WOULD be "SHE",
THE ALL
EM-POWERED
GODDETTE.
she put it all into perspective for me.....now I will quote verbatim and please be aware, my ignorance is not due to genetics, only to my youth;
And Goddette Said,
"Put the three candidates upon the plat form; this includes the Dem, the Repub, AND THE GREEN; Let them state their issues; stop the spending and the unnecessary debt spending for political parties (Hillary - however many millions of dollars she's trying to get us to pay for), and USE this money to put into the Security Systems so it won't go broke and the Homeless People that might feed a few starving children.........Give the people of Amercia 2 days to make their decision without being brainwashed by illusive political b.s., campaign tactics and let the votes drop where they may on election day."

You wouldn't believe the berating and chastising I received during our conversation; I felt as though I had been taken back in time when I used to sneak out at night and come in at 3am in the morning from and innocent ride with the local thugs......(I never understood why she was always so uptight over that)......anyway, when it comes to politics, I can always remember at family gatherings (Thanksgiving and Christmas) and after the big meal, all the adults would be gathered around the dining room table and it would be a smoke filled room.....cigars, cigarettes.....and that's what the women were smoking (isn't that the norm?) Anyway, we always had my mom; the Trumanish Democrat and then my dad's family, the staunch Republicans; it was always a heated debate.....it would get loud; but "SHE" always held strong.....maybe that's where I get it......but unlike her, I guess I'm getting a little liberal for her likes and she really "bitch slapped" me last night and let me know a thing or two.....and then she had to really lay it on me with the "if your PaPa (Republican Papa) could see you now, he would probably turning flips in his grave!!!" And my response was, "well, don't you think your dad might be a LITTLE proud of my thoughts?" and her reply was, "NO, CUZ HE WAS A TRUMAN DEMOCRAT!!!!"("She"loved J.F.K. I think she secretly had dreams about him at nights; she went thru a phase when she kind of looked like Jackie; so I thought this picture I posted would do justice for this post and her and her beliefs).........I do agree with her though on one thing; the brainwashing needs to stop and let's put them up for the last debate; have the shoot-off 2 days before the election; then go to the polls........Peace Out!

Just 37% Believe Clinton Wants Obama to Win.....

(Before you read this, I just want to say that it may just have been a MAN that wrote this......but I won't pinkie swear on it because I can't quite figure the ambiguous overtones of the wording in this write up.......but nevertheless, after what I read ON THE VIRG this a.m., I felt it couldn't hurt anything to post this one.......and the picture i posted here along with this article is just my little touch. it's from "1968, Philip Morris marketed Virginia Slims cigarettes to women with an advertising strategy showing canny insight into the importance of the emerging women's movement. The slogan "You've come a long way, Baby" later gave way to "It's a woman thing" in the mid-1990s, and more recently the "Find your voice" campaign featuring women of diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds. The underlying message of these campaigns has been that smoking is related to women's freedom, emancipation, and empowerment." I'm not all about the smoking thing, because of the obvious; however I'll go along with the racial, ethnic, freedom, emancipation and all the empowerment we can get...........)
rasmussenreports Wed Jun 25, 10:39 AM ET
"Just 37% of voters nationwide think that Hillary Clinton wants Barack Obama to win the White House this November. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey found that 33% disagree and say that Clinton does not want an Obama victory. Thirty percent (30%) are not sure.

A plurality of women (39%) think Clinton is rooting for Obama while a plurality of men (40%) disagree. Fifty-six percent (56%) of Democrats think the former First Lady wants the man who wrestled the nomination away from her to win it all. So do 20% of Republicans and 27% of unaffiliated voters.
Forty-four percent (44%) of Democrats think Clinton should be named as Obama's Vice Presidential running mate. That's
down slightly from 51% immediately after Obama clinched the nomination. Just 24% of unaffiliated voters think Clinton should be on the ticket while 52% disagree.
If Obama wins, 73% of Democratic voters say that Hillary Clinton should be considered for a Cabinet position. However, just 41% of Democrats think that former President Bill Clinton should have a role in an Obama Administration. On that last point, 49% of Democrats say no to Bill.
Unaffiliated voters are evenly divided as to whether Hillary Clinton should be considered for a Cabinet position. But, just 18% of unaffiliateds want Bill Clinton to have a role and 75% are opposed to the idea.
Hillary Clinton is now viewed favorably by 52% of all voters nationwide and unfavorably by 45%. Sixty-one percent (61%) of women have a favorable opinion of her along with 42% of men. She earns positive reviews from 69% of African-American voters and 48% of White voters. Among those with incomes over $75,000 annually, her favorable ratings fall to 45%.
This national survey of 1,000 Likely Voters was conducted by Rasmussen Reports June 22, 2008. The margin of sampling error for each survey is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence.

MAN IN WHEEL CHAIR CHARGED W/ DRUNK DRIVING......?

CANBERRA (Reuters) - Police in Australia have charged a man for drink driving in a motorized wheelchair after he was found to be six times over the legal alcohol limit, local media reported on Monday. Police in the tropical northern Queensland city of Cairns said the man had a blood alcohol reading of 0.31, and was so drunk he was asleep at the controls of his motorized wheelchair in a turning lane of a major highway. It beggars belief," Police Inspector Bob Walters told the Cairns Post newspaper, adding wheelchairs, bicycles, horses and skateboards were all considered to be vehicles under the state's road laws. "It's unlawful, it is unacceptable and people should realize it could lead to a fatality," he said. Other motorists on the four-lane highway had to swerve to avoid the wheelchair, police said. (Reporting by James Grubel; Editing by David Fox) Me and a friend were driving home one night, actually I was driving her home cuz she couldn't drive and we drew straws to see who was gonna drive cuz neither one of us should've been doing any kind of motorized functions.....in fact, we probably would have been safer on wheel chairs.......ANYWAYS (I always get off point....), we were traveling down the road and low and behold we see all this commotion ahead of us and it was some of our local finest; their blue lights just a blinking with their LCD lights just enamoring me towards them like a beekon of light.......should have turned the other way, but I couldn't......not me......my friend was freak'n cuz she was going, "what the hell are ya do'in????" I said I had to see what the commotion was and it was gonna be all right......low and behold, 2 police officers had a guy, oh I would say about in his 60's stopped on a lawn mower!! Double duty here......my friend had an epiphany in her drunken stupor and remembered that he was the guy earlier in the night that had been spin'n hookers on main street in front of her house and now this was about 10pm at night.......always wonder'd what happened to him.........we drove off, ever so slowly and just chuckled.........

I MISS HILLARY......AND WHAT SHE STOOD FOR!

By Andrea Hopkins 1 hour, 42 minutes ago
CINCINNATI (Reuters) - Homemaker Mary Mardis, 52, liked U.S. presidential candidate Hillary Clinton but now she's not sure who she'll vote for in November. Maybe Barack Obama, who beat Clinton to win the Democratic nomination. Maybe Republican John McCain."I was leaning toward Hillary. Now I'm undecided," said Mardis as she wheeled her baby nephew through a Cincinnati bookstore. "I will vote, but I'll probably be one of those people who decide two days beforehand." Since Clinton conceded to rival Obama in the Democratic race on June 7, there has been endless speculation about the intentions of her disappointed female supporters.Would they refuse to support Obama? Not vote in November's presidential election? Or worse, throw their support to Republican McCain? Everywhere, it seems, there are examples of each. Furious loyalists of the former first lady protested at a Democratic Party meeting in Washington, vowing to bolt from the party if Clinton did not win the nomination.
I've been taking a poll.......every female I've talked to feels pretty much the same way......Hillary was the glue to the Democratic ticket and again, even though she may have made some mistakes and had a stigma of endless past ghosts and demons (who doesn't), it amazes me that the male persuasion isn't getting it?! Or are they??? Are they scared that a woman MIGHT just have the guts, savvy, inclination of insight and foresight to see that it is time for HER OR SHE to do this ticket??? Hillary is doing everything she can to get her female base to now move towards the Obama movement (see Hillary Clinton asks top donors to meet with Obama ) and I, like so many others, am now getting cold feet.....I'm scared....don't know what to do......but then again, I'm a woman and I can say that......men won't!

The Pizza Bar, Eureka Springs, Arkansas.....Best Little Pizza Bar In Town......

Me and the YaYa's Went to Eureka Springs, Arkansas this past weekend.....I'm still trying to recover......but that's another story for another post......anyways, I wanted to do a little post on the local cuisine that we experience during our stay.....First we dropped in on The Pizza Bar, located at 13 North Main, right off of Spring,(you know when you go down, instead of up......we've all been there a time or two in our lives......) ANYWAY, it's right by Mud Street Station and it's just like going home! It has your buffet for lunch and you can order anything you want, all day long till the streets close up at night.......you can also get your beer and wine, to boot! It was just like walking in to a place and they've known you all your lives!!! The owners, Lorri and Sunday were just as hospitable as they could be and we just loved it!!!! You must go there the next time your cruising down Main and Spring and your look'n for a nice lunch buffet and a good cold one!!! After that we ate at the Cafe Soleil , which was very good as well and has their own link by clicking on the name. We also dined at Ermilio's Italian Home Cooking, which I'm sure everyone has heard of.......wonderful, to say the least. But my heart is with The Pizza Bar for now......they're new, and have just opened their business and for the food, and the prices, with the economy that is hitting everyone right now, not to mention new entenpreneur's going out on a limb to start their own business, I can only hope that people take the time to walk in to The Pizza Bar and feel at home..........give them a try......it's worth it!

And Church Lady's Response............

What would the Church lady have to say about this one?????

ITALIANS WHO HAD SEX IN CHURCH CONFESSIONAL REPENT......ROME (Reuters) - An Italian couple who were caught having sex in a church confessional box while morning Mass was being said have repented and made peace with the local bishop. The couple, in their early 30s, were detained by police earlier this month after they had made love in the confessional box in the cathedral in northern Cesena. They were cautioned for obscene acts in public and disturbing a religious function. Their lawyer said they had been drinking all night and realised they had gone too far. I'm really excited that they got a good lawyer because it sounds like he had a great defense for them......"drinking too much all night, and said that they were asking for forgiveness". Now that's a good lawyer and I wish I had that lawyer; maybe he could get me out of some obscene things me and my cougar friends have had some run ins with in the past....He might be one to put on retainer......"The lawyer told the area's local newspaper on Wednesday the couple met with the local bishop on Tuesday night, asked for his forgiveness and that he had given it.
Last week the bishop celebrated a "Mass of reparation" in the cathedral where the confessional box incident took place to make up for the sacrilege.
I'm feeling like I need to have a "Mass of Reparation" just for the past 30 years............YA YA!!!! And with that I will hope you will be watching what the Church Lady has to say about that!!!!!

Take A Bow, Hillary......Hail Hillary!

REFLECTING ON WHAT HILLARY DID WIN........

From the New York Times Op-Ed Columnist
What Hillary Won
By GAIL COLLINS
Published: June 7, 2008

This is a good editorial; it really kind of made me weepy even though it's been a kind of "weepy" week for me anyway! Goddette forbid any MAN see me weep, but I've had a hard, damn week and last night really topped it off. I'm sitting in a Chinese restaurant and I've stuffed my face and it's down to the fortune cookie......I open it and it reads something like" Your mouth may be moving today, but no one is listening!" Well, in a man's world, hellooooo??!!!! That little piece of paper ain't tell'n me somethin' I ain't all ready figured out by now! By reading what Gail Collins has to say about Hillary has done for us, kind of made me sympathize with half of what Hillary probably has had to endure for the most part of her campaign, let alone her life. But I've all ready covered that in another post as being the good wife and standing behind your man crap and look'n pretty.........Gail writes "Clinton is very much a product of the generation that accepted a certain amount of humiliation as the price of progress. She wrote in her autobiography that when she ran for president of her high-school class against several boys, one of them told her she was “really stupid” if she thought a girl could be elected president. She lost, and later, the winner asked her to head a committee “which as far as I could tell was expected to do most of the work.” She swallowed hard, accepted and, she admitted, really liked organizing all the school parades and dances and pep rallies. This is one of the things you have to admire about Hillary Clinton. She still enjoys the work. Over the past months, Clinton has seemed haunted by the image of the “nice girl” who gives up the fight because she’s afraid the boys will be angry if they don’t get their way. She told people she would never, ever say: “I’m the girl, I give up.” She would never let her daughter, or anybody else’s daughter, think that she quit because things got too tough. And she never did. Nobody is ever again going to question whether it’s possible for a woman to go toe-to-toe with the toughest male candidate in a race for president of the United States. Or whether a woman could be strong enough to serve as commander in chief. " You know, I can just imagine how many nights she has laid in bed and cried her eyes out.....and don't laugh....and if you are laughing, you're probably a man......because let me tell ya, it's a bitch when you're the "token bitch" of the campaign, the table, the committee, or the board. It ain't no fun cuz you're usually the one that asks the hard ball questions while the other dead dicks just sit there with their thumbs up their butts.......but of course, that's just from my experience and my HUMBLE opinion............."Her campaign didn’t resolve whether a woman who seems tough enough to run the military can also seem likable enough to get elected. But she helped pave the way. So many battles against prejudice are won when people get used to seeing women and minorities in roles that only white men had held before. By the end of those 54 primaries and caucuses, Hillary had made a woman running for president seem normal. Her campaign was messy, and it made some fatal tactical errors. But nobody who sent her a donation could accuse her of not giving them their money’s worth." As I sit here and wait for her to give her concession speech (and drink my bloody mary and drag on my swisher sweet ever so slowly), I will reflect on all she has done for us bitches out in the Political World and raise my glass and say a "Hail Hillary"..........in fact, I'll probably "Hail Hillary" several drinks through out the day..............Take a bow, Hillary.........

NO DEAL IN THE WORKS????? COME ON.......

OBAMA APPOINTS TEAM TO HELP FIND RUNNING MATE WASHINGTON - Barack Obama has asked a three-person team, including Caroline Kennedy, to help lead the vetting of a prospective vice presidential candidate. Kennedy has begun managing the process with high-profile Democratic insiders Jim Johnson and Eric Holder. Johnson is the former CEO of Fannie Mae who also oversaw the vice presidential vetting for John Kerry in 2004 and Walter Mondale in 1984. Holder was deputy attorney general in the Clinton administration and has been a senior legal adviser to Obama's campaign. Said Obama spokesman Bill Burton: "Senator Obama is pleased to have three talented and dedicated individuals managing this rigorous process." Also today, Obama spoke directly with his vanquished rival Hillary Rodham Clinton on Wednesday and expressed optimism they could achieve party unity after their bruising battle for the Democratic presidential nomination. He also accused Republican rival John McCain of supporting a "plan for staying, not a plan for victory" in Iraq.
As he traded jabs with McCain over national security policy, Obama visited the Senate where Democrats and Republicans shook his hand and congratulated him. The Illinois senator disclosed he had spoken with Clinton, who was not in the Senate, earlier in the day after he claimed the nomination and she stopped short of conceding. "I just spoke to her today, and we're going to be having a conversation in coming weeks. And I'm very confident how unified the Democratic party's going to be to win in November," Obama told reporters as he left the Senate. There is no deal in the works," said Obama's spokesman, Robert Gibbs.
"When the dust settles and it makes sense for her, he'll meet whenever she wants to," Gibbs said. "She's accumulated a lot of votes throughout this country. We want to make sure that we're appealing to her voters."
In his speech at AIPAC, Obama urged his audience to reject what he said were false e-mails circulating about him, stressed his support for Israel and depicted the war in Iraq as a threat to Israel's security. Come on Barack.......give the girl a chance......my Goddette, she's worked her tail off for how many years, not to mention, taken so much off Billy Boy, even though as I said before, she may have very well known about his shenanigans; but nevertheless, she has earned at least a 4 year run at holding YOUR hand...........COME ON????!!!!!!!! PRAY, PRAY, PRAY........

PARIS - TORNADO OR HIGH WINDS?

Sunday, a storm blew through the town and surrounding community of Paris, population of around 3700 and just about blew everyone away; literally. Trees that had been in the town for years are now of only a thing of the past as they are being chain sawed and drug away for fire wood and ruin. But amazingly the town has pulled together and they were hopefull they could get thru this thing without casualties. With an electric crew of three, contract labor was brought in to help restore thousands back to their easy ways of life with electric energy. But unfortunately, it wasn't that easy. A young husband and father was electrocuted earlier today while working to restore power to the city of Paris. Several other crew members were severely injured. It's being described as a terrible accident. Workers for C&N Electric, Power and Line Construction were cutting debris away from a downed power line. Why this had to happen is a big question that is haunting me right now.......when people are reaching out to help others and are trying to help them gain back their "take for granted" quality of life, why must life be taken? A slip of the finger; a careless descision; a sleepless night and fatigue to the descision process???? The questions are all raised and only there is only one that can, I guess, answer the true question.......and that's one that's higher than us. Never the less, the thankless jobs that these people do when in need of repair for tragic times as these; we don't need to forget that they are putting their lives on the line to get us a little "relief" from that hot muggy day, or having to run down somewhere to get another bag of ice to put on our beer and bologna.......And not to mention, the next time you call the city office and bitch that you don't have your limbs picked up cuz "JOE BLOW" is out there gett'n his first, remember; it's a small town and it's amazing that one of your sons or fathers or brothers or sisters weren't laying on that ground dying to get your A/C going..........It's bad enough that it was a neighbor that has no attachment to the city is gone now and his child is wondering why he was over there in that "other town" working anyway???!!!! I feel deeply for the families and the mothers of this crew. thanks to KFSM for Pic and link for the story....
