It's been awhile......been on a mental, "Sally" vacation and it's been a life, lesson vacation. Things come....things go.....But when you lay your head down at the end of the day, you have to really, really think about what is important. What's important to you??? Love....Family.....CAREER.....material things???? It could be one or all of the above....however, I've found that there are many out there that pick one....not all of the above. In a world that is materialistic, career oriented, and last but not least, love and family.....it's really chaotic. When things are not what they seem, life really, really SUX!!!! But when you hold on to what's important, it can be great. Unfortunately, there are many that let the 'smart phone', career, personal vices....get in the way. All I gotta say is that after a long and life altering process, it really all becomes CLEAR!!!!! And if we ARE NOT CLEAR, than I hope, with time, it shines so clear that you can't even say the words.......ARE WE CLEAR?!!!! Good Luck and glad to be back in reality......Thanks to Cousin Virg for helping....he is a GOD!!!!! A Legend.....A HERO!!!! Luv and Peace out!

Someone that I cherished very much in my life died suddenly........he was just a man...a healer of the body; some people loved him....some didn't......but i loved him; not because he saved my life or delivered a couple of my children....but, because he was just a man.....wanting to help people and just wanting to be liked...he was just like us trying to get through this crazy life--he was on his game at times; had the world by the tail.....and then, such as life, he slipped; as we all do somtimes...I slipped and called him 'daddy' a time or two, that's for sure.........we sat and talked for hours at times.... trying to figure out this life.......he was just a man.....he loved his children dearly! I loved him dearly........seems like he was always there when i needed an ear...... I'll miss him.....but I Thank Him......He was there when I didn't even know I needed him.......and he was there......

I've been consumed by wanting to know who and what I may have been successful in my life for.......yet, I've been searching in the wrong places; trying to succeed in the wrong sects: trying to impress the wrong people.......when it was all right in front of me.........the whole time.

A journey is needed in life if you've never had one.....a Journey To "Who the True You" is. Sounds hokey....sounds cliche.......but, in all actuality, it' s true. (And if anyone hasn't ever done it or experienced it, or even tried it for that matter, they are either waller'n in their own bitterness, or they are making life for everyone around them a LIVING HELL!!! Ask my former constituents!!!!)

The journey is long.....it takes months; years....may even take a decade. Patience is needed by others around if this is going to work for you or THEM. The truth is; the journey will be worth it for all involved if it is truly meant to be life changer........a game changer.........

Finding out if you are worth the life that has been given you on this Earth is something that only the person inside can find and discover the true answer. Yet; we question........we analyze.........we accuse..........we blame..........we deny....we deny even ourselves of some of life pleasures to just make it ALL LOOK GOOD for the outside to see......but where is the worth?

Am I worthy? Hell, yes! I'm worthy......took me awhile......but I know I am......but I am worthy for the one thing most important.........and that is my true, inner happiness in my heart. I know my children give me that, for sure. Unconditional. Without a question..........

I also know that when the passion is there in a relationship it is worthy.......worthy of the effort....the effort to make the move to just give truth and honesty to the other........worth IS WORTH something isn't it? (Don't make me question this because my journey has been long and strenousous.......hard.......humiliating........humbling..........yet euphoric........)

So yes.....I'm Worthy.........Give me some time......I'll give you time.........it's worth it........we are worthy. Peace Out....Luv!

(If you are reading this post, and you haven't read my blog in awhile....you might want to read the post prior to this one to get this sick and demented story......if you don't.......well.......nevermind!)

Long story short...........the jerks make assholes of themselves in the "Big Boy"....... in front of the major and all time cool people that I was over in a corner pervin from afar from.....yes! It was Molly Hatchet in person AT THE BIG BOY!!!!!! They walk in to get them sum good munchies and i'm like.....freakin.....die'n......it was my first 'groupie moment' EVER!!!!!! (I was a virgin.....just so we are clear!!) I was beside myself......but remember....a little paranoid......poepoe walks in.........the 3 puberty stricken jerks are in full swing by this time......they can't hang with us mature and more "cool and suave, sweet females"........me, being the young and up and coming Bitch that I was grooming myself to be had had "ENUF!!!!" Drama eluded the whole resteraunt.....or drive in.......or whatever the hell it was.......(I know there were booths!) WE WERE HEAD TURNERS!!!!!!!
I told the girls......"this train was a leavin and the assholes could walk or ride!"

Long story short.......girls get in car......boys get in car......we stop at Mayflower and let my ex-to be that was with the newly turned 16 year old at the time (first love)......no really......I am and always be honored to be a part of that little history......i OWN IT! i LOVE IT.... 2 special people......he was a boy though and boys turn into jerk men at times but then they grow up eventually........anyway, we stop at Mayflower and let the one boy call his Auntie to tell her "plans have changed and it's o.k.; (he had no choice; I loved it!!!!! I was in control at that time!!!!!! heeeeheee) And Auntie...."WE WILL BE SAFE AND GET HOME O.K.!!!!!!

And, of course, we did..........

I dropped them off at the newly 16 year olds house........everyone piled up on the couch.......except me............

And I......being the 17....almost 18 year independent woman that I was........drove off in my 1978-Camero with '79 stripes ....little bondo........hey! It blew a lil oil but by golly it got me to places you can only dream about!!!!! (and yeah.....it was a half-breed......not that there is anything wrong with that! MEMBER; I am a trend setter! I just didn't know it!!!!)

And with that.....I went and found my bad boy.............and lost my virginity that night........
Damn..........(and it wasn't even all what it was cracked up to be............as usual........) I'm gonna smoke now.........

Sally.....myself.......has been on somewhat of a little hiatus for a few months now and I KNOW THAT YOU ALL HAVE MOURNED HER ABSENCE! However.......it's over, people! SHE BACK!!!!! SHE BITCHY!!!!! SHE MEAN!!!!!!! SHE SCUTTLE!!!!! AND MOSTLY, she just her ever, love'n, good hearted old self.......(that's need'n a friend, or two, or three.....)

Now.....If you look'n at me funny as to why the mere small tykes in the video singing one of the classic songs OF ALL TIME.....(well....maybe not of all time; but when I was 17.....they were the hair band of the freaking haze comin' off mine and ever one of my cronies dashboard).......Oh....and a freak'n DASHBOARD was something you used for the "DASH BOARD LIGHT!!!!!" (I hate explainin' myself! i.e. 'words of the iconic "MeatLoaf")........

Anyway........I'll never forget....Like yesterday.........It was spring......early summer, probably....1979! Me and my good friend were Juniors in High School and third friend.....she was a sophomore......She was beautiful....blond.....only child........just got a brand new Powder Puff Blue Cutlass Supreme for her 16th!!! We waz STYLIN!!! Donna Summer's "Want to Love You Baby" waz our anthem.......guys thought we were freak'n crazy blare'n down the main drag moanin' and carrying on like were these sensual, sexual, revolutionary babes......(those boyz were just scared.......wish they had had something to be scared of in me........) ANYWAY!!......

We had a blast on the way to Little Rock......120 miles......the newly 16 year old's momma only authorized ME as designated driver........I know what ya'll think'n!!!! She waz CRAZY!!!! Nope!! Smartest woman on the planet........she knew I'd keep everyone's crap in line........I waz always watchin what everyone else waz doin; little did I know, her momma waz always watch'n me.....I waz just like her....i waz think'n and take'n notes!.......not in to the boy thing that much.....and if i WAZ........Your SURE DIDN't Know About it!!!! Kind of a study to me...........Doin' research...if you will :)

Again...back to the excursion........we were driven down I-40......guys in back......3 jerks.....little did I know that one would eventually be ONE of my ex-husbands (whose count'n)......Couldn't stand none of the jerks.......freaks......nerdy assholes......I WAZ IN TO THE BADDDD BOYZ! or so, I thought.........They doin stupid shit in the back seat....Us three girls in the front........I think we mooned a few truck drivers(or they did; remember.....I was driven!!!!!!!), drinkin "Malt Duck"....remember the 8 pack??? POINIES!!!!!!!!! Boyz had their Miller Lite....SOOOO COOL!!! Hell....I had my damn weed.....and of course, It WAZ FOR MEDICI MAL PURPOSES!!!!! Little did i know I actually invented that word and should have patented the damn 'term'! After all.....I'd been sick.....complications turned my liver to mush.....I waz a smart girl.......momma said no alcohol!!! Why not an HERB?????

My Nana always said I was a very intuitive child.....a loner.......always dreamin'......

O.k. You got the mood and the setting.....even the dumb jerks in the back seat had the guts to BOGART my STOGIE......member; that when you could roll that skunk stuff......really didn't do nothin for long periods......but we thot it was some GOOD SHIT!!!! We get to the concert finally....thot i was going to slit my wrists......I waz all ready scream'n at these clowns in the back cuz they were SOOOOOO obnoxious!!!

How many of you guys were that way back then???? 1978.....1979.....1980......hell some could have been long term clowns and lasted way up into the late 80's......(not that there is anything wrong with that).......::::Personal thought:::::WISH I WOULD HAVE...........might have been a little better for life and not played house so quick and tried to act like an adult and raised kids in the mix.........Some how, though....me and my first husband were blessed with 2 devoted boys..........with a little help from my second hubby, i might add......

but somewhere, after the show......things......basically.......uhhhhh.....to put it bluntly......went to shit! My buzz was WAYYYYYYY over........bitch had reset......3 jerks WERE drunk! Has anyone really thought about disclosing the full meaning of this word to me????? I would really, really like to know. WARNING: (this post is not intended to be a selfish post or meant to be directed to any one person or entity. Read only at your own risk!!!) Of all things in my life, disclosure, I guess, has turned out to be the most important -defining word.......defining item and action that has underlined (and even undermined the whole meaning of things in my life.....don't know about yours or your friends or your family.......but it sure has been for lil' ol' Sally! Yes sir!!! DISCLOSURE!!!!!! Or so I feel that way at this moment.....No blame game here....just another epiphany! Lets get on with my point.....shall we?
I guess it starts with childhood.......reality and disclosure from the ones that raise you.......what's
factual and what's, shall we say "swept under the rug"......"shhhhhh! Don't talk to loud....the children might here this and it might SHATTER their world!" A little disclosure, personally, is healthy for that child. I'm just say'n.......The Rose Garden isn't what it's cracked up to be when you grow up and there is no one there to say "It's o.k.......nothings you have done is wrong....this will all go away and tomorrow will be a knew day!" Nope.....don't work that way!
Then you move into the relationship part of life with DISCLOSURE! (I could go on for hours about this one, but I shant because it's irrelevant!) Everybody knows somebody or surely to Goddette has been married to someone and you wake up one day and say; "who in da hell is that person and why the hell ain't I seen them for their real selves all this time?" A simple little word can help in this part of life TREMENDOUSLY......DISCLOSURE!!! But we are all afraid we will NOT BE ACCEPTED FOR WHO WE TRULY ARE!!! All those little quirks and all those little, hidden evils we have gathered over the years can NOT BE DISPLAYED! I think it goes back to the first of this sick post and Sally's Deep thoughts on Disclosure-when we were being raised there was a certain standard......moral side.......you had to be this way.......don't do this or "you'll get in trouble".......it sticks with you but that nasty, dirty head of reality and who we actually turn in to eventually surfaces and raises it's ugly head to those that you are close to or in a relationship with and the other person, IF THEY REALLY CARE AND LOVE YOU, see it.....they get it.....they want to understand......if they truly accept you for who you are......maybe they just want to be accepted for who they are.......
Wouldn't that be a great thing if you could actually be with someone or friends that finally got passed all the baggage and just chilled and loved and let it go..........just accepted everyone and finally just saw it for what it was and went with it? Wouldn't that be grand? Am I dream'n in a non-reality world that just can't happen because Disclosure will always be a "hidden evil" that might surface and the trust is then broken again between EVERYONE because there was no trust to begin with.......? Or maybe, as usual, I've got it all wrong..........who gives a shit about Disclosure (except in litigation....and you need to get FULL DISCLOSURE); take people for who they are and love them. Feel free to love them back......trust them.......and they will trust you back.......no need for disclosure if the love is real; disclosure will come naturally and not forced or taken from you or the other party.......it doesn't have to.......because you want to disclose anything and everything to the person you trust and vice versus. ESPECIALLY if you know that person is accepting YOU and YOU are accepting them for WHO THEY ARE......! Love and Peace Out!

I know where it went.....but there ain't enough time in this post and you sure the hell ain't want'n to hear the lurid details (well......some of you sick pervs would; but not gonna give you ALL the pleasure!!!! Leave a little to the imagination....won't ya???? Isn't it all in the 'mystery'???)
Anyway.......funny thing about it slippin......it's slippin into a great and junormorous (word??-I like it....pro-nounced jew-nor-mus: meaning; BIG!!!!!) slippin into a great and JUNORMOROUS world of new life and energy! Great expectations; new responsibilities; fear; disappointment; courage; new emotions to experience that some of us have never, ever experienced before! Isn't it amazing when you uncover YOU??? It may just be a simple you that really didn't need or want for much; just needed to look around and see the things that life handed to you; however, you never, ever really sat back and took in.......does that make since?
For instance: I have this couple of friends that have been married now for bout 10 years....some people get them, some don't! They do EVERYTHING together!!!! When she's down, he may moan a bit to a buddy but he's there for her; same with her to him....but at the end of the day THEY KNOW!!!!! I never, ever got them........never understood it! Deep down, I look at it now and truthfully; was jealous, in a way! It's an amazing love and thing to have such a deep connection with someone that can truly accept you and vice versus!!! Amazing!!!! I've told them this.....I truly care and have deep admiration for this 'thing' they have!!!! Protect it.......but don't you ever smother it!!!! or it will die out like an old flame! Keep it flyin!!! It's one of those things us people that let 'time slip by' that miss out on in the early years of our life.....ya'll got it goin on!!!!! Until you really, really crave the little things like that-that are the most important things in life, will you get it! Sometimes when we are growing up, we lose all site of what is real and what should be front and center. I missed it.......I know alot of people that have missed it.....It's like an airplane;

HUMMMMMM...............BIG....and I mean BIG thoughts!!!!!
How does somebody find their "true self"? The question is posed alot in certain scenerios, places and times. However, do we ever really, really ever----->GO THERE?????? Think about it.....do you want to really, really know who you really are and have you ever actually met that person? I don't remember her.........My life started when I was 20....how about yours? Was it taken over by 'aliens'???? or were you one of the 'LUCKY' one's and played hard and sowed your oates till about, say.....28 and then took the big plunge of ADULT HOOD!!!!!????? I wish I had been that lucky.....but then again I wouldn't have my prized artifacts that go along with starting early...........hard knocks, truth about credit cards (no debt now), MEN-that's a whole other post.........I may vary off on that just a tad, wisdom, patience, NO WHAT I WANT IN LIFE......you know; the usual platitudes you hear of the 'oh so wise'...........Back to the 'true self'-finding one's true self could mean a host of things to you or the next person; however, I guess to me-it would have to mean finding that one little thing that finally satisfies me and tells me in my sick little head that 'your gonna be O.K.'! That's what I want with 'true self', inner being; knowing that I can walk through life knowing that I'm doing it because I'm Happy........full of life...........not angry..............fulfilled.............and most of all, loving myself and anybody that I might just happen to let into my Sanctuary!!!!! Wouldn't that be awsome? Big? It's gonna take me many, many sessions with my therapist to get there...........but I like a CHALLENGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Peace Out!!!!!.............. I'll never forget falling in love with Dan Fogelberg........I was a senior in high school...yep, good ol' 1981 - album "The Innocent Age".......every word of every song he sang I hung on! But this song, when it came out, was the one that always, and to this day, will make a tear come to my eye........I don't know why....it doesn't remind me of a specific person or even a specific time........but the words and the melody or so true and meaningful and every year that I get older and as every year passes......it seems I find a new meaning in it every time, from whatever is going on in my life or has happened in my life at that time...........The radio stations really like to play it alot around Christmas and New Year........but I could listen to this song all year round and I could find a new meaning in it every time.........Sally is gett'n a little sentimental now........just wishing you and yours a Happy New Year! Sally really needs 2010 to be her best year ever! Been waitin' on it for a long time in my life and I look at it as a decade of a new beginning of whatever may bring for Sally and her inner peace. And yes, I have a New Year's Resolution-------stop smoking!!!!! I know, I know.....I can't afford them blasted things anymore and if I can't fall asleep and burn the house down now cuz they put that damned strip in there that makes them go out, to heck with 'em!!! At Woodruff High School, Jill Anderson had a typical teen romance: on-again/off-again with the same boy over several years.

He'd write a lot of poetry and share his insights with Jill. But as they went to separate colleges, things cooled off. They tried to stay in touch, but he moved out West and she headed to Chicago.

And that might've been the sum of a sweet memory, if not for a chance reunion one Christmas Eve at a Peoria convenience story - one music fans know well.

Jill's old boyfriend was Dan Fogelberg, who memorialized their convenience-store encounter in "Same Old Lang Syne." Since the song's release in 1980, Peoria - as well as the rest of his fans worldwide - has wondered about the "old lover" referenced in the song. Fogelberg never would say, and only a handful of people knew the ex-girlfriend's identify.

Jill, now Jill Greulich of Missouri, feels she can finally share the story.

"It's a memory that I cherish," she says.

She says she had kept publicly mum because Fogelberg was such a private person.

"It wasn't about me. It was about Dan. It was Dan's song," Jill says.

Further, though she and Fogelberg only rarely had communicated over the past quarter-century, she feared that her talking about the song somehow might cause trouble in his marriage. But in the aftermath of his death - he passed away of prostate cancer Sunday at age 56 - she has been sharing her secret with old friends in Peoria.

"I don't want this to overshadow Dan," Jill says. "When I heard the news that he died, I was very sad."

She and Fogelberg were part of the Woodruff Class of '69. They would date for long stretches, break up, then get back together.

Often, they would head to Grandview Drive, take in the vistas and listen to the likes of Joni Mitchell and Crosby, Stills & Nash. Fogelberg often would pen poetry, some of which he gave to Jill.

"I still have some of those in a drawer at home," she says.

After high school, Fogelberg went to the University of Illinois in Urbana to study theater, while Jill attended Western Illinois University to major in elementary education. They stayed in touch, even continuing to date for a while. But the romance ended for good when he left the U of I early to head to Colorado and pursue his music career.

After graduating college, Jill relocated to the Chicago area, where she worked as an elementary teacher and flight attendant. Not long after college, she married a man from that area, and her connection to Fogelberg faded to memories.

But on Christmas Eve 1975, Jill and her husband visited her parents, who still lived in the Woodruff district. Also at the home were some friends of the family.

During the gathering, Jill's mother asked her to run out for egg nog. Jill drove off in search of an open store.

Meanwhile, a few blocks away, a similar scenario was playing out at the Fogelberg home, where Dan Fogelberg was visiting family for the holiday. They needed whipping cream to make Irish coffees, so Fogelberg volunteered to go search for some.

By happenstance and because almost every other business on the East Bluff was closed, Jill and Fogelberg both ended up at the Convenient store at the top of Abington Hill, at Frye Avenue and Prospect Road. She got there first, and Fogelberg noticed her shortly after arriving.

They bought a six pack, sipped beer in her car and gabbed away. "We had some laughs," Jill recalls.

As two hours flew by, Jill's family and friends grew worried.

"We were like, 'Where is she?'" says a laughing Eileen Couri of Peoria, one of the friends at the gathering that night.

When Jill returned, she simply explained that she had run into Fogelberg, and the two had caught up with each other. No big deal.

Five years later, Jill was driving to work in Chicago. She had on the radio, and a new song popped on. First, she thought, "That sounds like Dan."

Then she listened to the lyrics, about two former lovers who have a chance encounter at a store. "Oh my gosh!" she told herself. "That really happened!"

They would not discuss "Same Old Lang Syne" until years later, during a conversation backstage at a Fogelberg concert. Two parts of the song are inaccurate. Blame Fogelberg's poetic license.

Jill does not have blue eyes, but green. In fact, when they dated, Fogelberg called her "Sweet Jilleen Green Eyes" - a combination of her full first name and his twisting of a song title by Crosby, Stills & Nash.

Fogelberg explained that he took the easy way out for "Same Old Lang Syne." As he told Jill, "Blue is easier to rhyme than green."

Also, her then-husband was not an architect but a physical-education teacher. Jill doubts Fogelberg knew what her husband did for a living. She thinks Fogelberg probably just thought "architect" sounded right for the song.

But those are minor details. The heart of the song hangs on its most chilling line: "She would have liked to say she loved the man, but she didn't like to lie."

Still, even decades later, she declines to discuss that line of the tune.

"I think that's probably too personal," she says.

But the song had no impact on her marriage. By the time of its release, she had divorced.

"Somebody said he waited until I was divorced to release the song, but I don't know if that's true," Jill says.

In 1980, the same year of the song's release, Jill married Chicago-area native Jim Greulich. Eventually, they would move to a St. Louis suburb, where she now teaches second grade.

A few of her school associates have known her secret about the song. So has Fogelberg's mother, who still lives in Peoria and exchanges Christmas cards with Jill.

This week, Jill sent e-mails to a few old pals in Peoria, lifting the lid off the "Same Old Lang Syne" mystery. One of the e-mail recipients was Wendy Blickenstaff, a Woodruff classmate of Jill's and Fogelberg's.

"I had a big suspicion" it was Jill, says Blickenstaff, now the head counselor at the school. "I'm happy for her. It's really cool. ... That's a memory that she treasures."

Jill agrees. Yet her memories of Dan Fogelberg stretch far beyond "Same Old Lang Syne."

"I'll always have a place in my heart for Dan," she says. " ... Dan would be a very special person to me, even without the song."

It's amazing how people take things when they see them in 'their' own light.......they take them either at face value; judgemental; sympathetic or empathetic....whatever the case, all people take information and process it in their brains the way they want and that's just the way it is.....some are narrow minded....others are open minded......others don't judge.......others just don't give a crap. Don't get me wrong, as I sit sometimes on my veranda in my moo moo and sip a little mint julep and drag off my swisher sweet, I often judge some of those folks myself.......I admit it..........wonder'n what they're think'n and 'why the hell they do what they do?' But then.......I look back at some of my friends and myself and think.......who am I to judge?? I especially look at some of the men in our lives and think......."what the hell were WE think'n????" But, I guess, that's what makes us who we are today..........right??? the wise ol' women that we are today???? Or......are we just now figuring it out....? Will we ever figure it out? I'm very passionate about my football........for those of you who didn't know! And I often read the sports section in two of the tangible papers that my big metro-opilis (word?) has access to.......that being the SW Times Record and the Arkansas Democrat Gazette. But I was never so moved......and I mean MOVED when I read Mr. Tolley's Commentary last Wednesday about a little controversy going on in the Arkansas River Valley and 3-A Division, High School Football Playoffs!!!!!! It made the "Earth, Move....under my Feet!" I got down right giddy as I read and read this article!
Lamar Vs. AAA: Who Wins, Who Loses? (click on this link to get the full read-this IS some good stuff!!!!) It don't get better than this when it comes to nailin' the those big ASS whiners out there that always are think'n that they are bigger, better and above all, holier than thou when it comes to the rule books of ANY sport!!!!!! I loved it........my heart went pitter, patter with every prose he wrote and I salivated on "It's about time the little guy won something against the monolithic evil of administrative red tape!" and "Paris officials didn't like it and they sure griped about it, but they didn't get a slick country lawyer and file a grievance." and the ULTIMATE BIG OHHHHH!- "Maybe Paris should get a lawyer to file an injunction to force the Paris-Lamar game to be played over again?"
Mr. Tolley: I'm in awe of you........"you lit up my life" for just a brief second in this world of non-policy driven people that don't want to play by the rules and "everyone is a winner" kind of bull. I guess I'm old school or something, but I can remember when there was a rule in school or on the playing field; you went by it and you didn't have this scream'n parent or scream'n coach making a spectacle of themselves out there and setting the standard for the kids watch'n them. All the while, that kid's think'n "he's my hero!!!!" Well, now......unfortunately, we have to deal with all these little kids that have now grown into adults that, for some ungodly reason, felt they got the raw end of the deal back in the 70's or the 80's! And it sounds to me like they have all moved to Lamar!!!!!

Death Penalty for Vance-alot of burried secrets......

Yesterday, the jury of six men and six women convicted Anne Pressley's murderer, Lavelle Vance, guilty of all counts on capital murder. The picture of Patti Cannady weeping on the front page of the ADG is haunting.......it makes me sad and glad for her at the same time. But there are things that don't add up in my sick little brain when I read some of the testimonies that tell of what happen to poor Anne in those minutes of trauma.......as described by Dr. Stephen Erickson, the states deputy chief medical examiner, "Pressley was struck at least a dozen times, several times in the face, with each blow splitting her skin. He said she suffered five skull fractures." First of all.......why would a burglar take the time to disfigure someone so? Why would a "stranger", as Prosecutor Johnson put it, want to take the time to take Anne's beautiful face away and not her belongings.........I don't get that? Did he really hate her that much and have that much ill-will towards her for fighting back? Supposedly this was a random burglary.........or maybe he was stalking her-but still, why would you take a blunt object to someone that is beautiful unless.....unless........you're jealous? Bitter? Rejected? Scorned? There are a lot of emotions I could think of for tearing off someones face just because I am a woman and could be really vicious and vindictive at times.......but why? Why do this? Why break in to a woman's house to burglarize and rape and then beat her beautiful face beyond recognition? Don't make sense to me.........You kill Vance and all the secrets will be buried......sounds like a good plan. Whose getting justice in this case? Yes, I think he played a part and Yes, I think he is getting his........however, I think there is more to it than is being told and that may ever be told..........As for Patti Cannady, I'm sure if you were to ask her what her feelings are 5 years down the road, or even 20 years after Vance has been fried and long and gone, she'll have the same response that Patricia's mother has said every time........."Why didn't you just take me instead? Well.....don't know if it's a good week or a bad week, for Patti Cannady.........The trial started for her daughter's accused murderer last week and Ms. Cannady took the stand the first day of testimony. I posted this picture of Anne because I thought it looked so natural of her......fresh faced.....free spirited.......As I read today's description of yesterday's proceedings, it makes my heart go out to her family that sat through it all......sat there and had to hear the poignant details of every minute--piece by piece of evidence that was stripped from the scene of the crime and basically stripped from their daughters dignity......it was hard for me to even read them; let alone, a mother sitting there in a court room having to listen to the blow by blow accounts of how her daughter fought desperately for her life; but in all reality, they have to know that she will always be the true, fun loving spirit that she was and always will be......forever in our memory! I know this woman too well and I've never met her in my life! I know her mother too well and I've never met her in my life! Not a day goes by that we don't think of Patricia.........the accounts are eerily similar..........yet there is never a day...........I just hope that this is the justice that the Cannady's are deserved of.......maybe I'm a little skepticle; however, I think there is more to this story than meets the eye..........Peace Out!

The quote in my title is from Robert Fulghum and is taken from a book a friend was telling me about that she was reading. Her therapist thought it would be helpful during her 'healing process' due to what she and every other woman on the face of this earth (and maybe, just maybe......even men; I CAN be unbiased!) and that would be the victim of verbal abuse during a relationship. The title of the book is The Verbally Abusive Relationship-How to recognize it and how to respond...By Patricia Evans. My friend has found this book very benificial and is working hard to regain her inner strength and finding 'herself' again. I can see the change in her and it's like finding that old friend that you had for years that suddenly turned into this person you didn't even know. She left us for awhile........she was distant and made things look pretty on the outside......she made things look pretty for herself........she made things look pretty for her family.......she even made things look pretty in her own mind to the point that she actually believed that this was a life that was o.k. to live. However, we as yaya's....know better when one of our sisters are NOT QUITE what they should be.......However, as she told me, you get to a point where you just can't play the part anymore and you decide that enough is enough......but then she struggled with when and how to get out without getting harmed and, of course.....there were children. It is a very sad story.....but true! And I'm sure we all know someone that is going through this as I write this.....but the defining part of this story is that NO ONE ACTUALLY KNOWS what goes on behind closed doors unless you are actually there. That 'gentle giant' of a man and the 'fun guy' is all well trained and honed into to his craft and is very deceiving to the naked eye.....but not to her. And eventually.....she see's the light. And there is a light......and it is called STRENGTH! INNER-STRENGTH!!! She has to dig her way out and find it.......if willing.....no matter how old she is.......or she sits there and basically dies inside and dwindles into little, if not nothing......And that-is what he (the abuser) wants to achieve!!!!!

So with that-----I raise my glass of cheap ass wine (it's been a shopping week and that's all I could afford) and I toast the ones that actually go towards the light of STRENGTH!!!

You know......as I sit here on my 47th Birthday....yeah 47!!!! and reflect on what and why and where I've been and what I've seen and I've what I've done......I'm thinkin' that it could have been worse......it could have been better.......but in all honesty, the only thing I know today is that the TRUTH will set you free. It's true that I'm 47 years young today and it's true that I'm STILL GET'N IT DONE!!!!!!! But the best thing about today is that I know that for once in my life I'm not lieing to NO ONE.......Not even myself!!! Best Birthday Gift Ever!!!!! My therapist....yes my therapist (doesn't everyone have one????) tells me that truth is the beginning of the healing and I truly think this educated female knows what she's talking about!! Women are funny about hiding behind a mask at times in their lives and they often put on a poker face for this reason or that.....whether it's for show-hiding an abusive relationship-keeping up with the Jones'-or just down right pride-but let me tell ya! It's not healthy for the psyche, that's for sure, because you find yourself lost in a world you don't even know and you don't even recognize yourself in the mirror after a few years! But this morning.........I knew..........I looked ME straight in the eye and I actually LIKED WHAT I SAW!!!! And I don't think I've EVER thought that.......wrote it.....or said it out loud in my ENTIRE life!!!! So this is BIG for me.......MAJOR!!!!! I've blogged about this before, and before, and before, the last 'before' being especially close to home...........I read in the Arkansas Democrat the other day about how Curtis Lavelle Vance told his story of his interrogations and the 'way it all went down' when he was apprehended. The details send chills up my spine and the pain comes back just like it was yesterday.......October 20th, 2008 when she was attacked, only to succumb to the beating five days later. Old wounds are now having to come back in to the lives of her loved ones; yet, they never go away.......because you see, no matter what they do to this guy or what they do to WHOEVER was involved (I'll get to that in a minute), the thought of your baby girl or best bud being brutally beaten, stabbed and raped to the point of her unrecognizable beauty being ripped from her face will never leave the thoughts of her family or us! As for Vance's quotes in the paper that day and his accounts of the way things happened are scary, to say the least. Not that he has an IQ way below the charts or anything, but then who are we to believe?????------->>>> The Prosecution or the Defendants side and their panel of professionals that will come in.....analyze.....pick him apart......all the while, describing in detail what happened to Anne in total, sick detail......it disgusts me! But at least they have one part of the equation-Vance.......I'm not saying that he may or may have not acted alone; however, this guy is pretty stupid.......I don't get it how he did this alone.......but then again, Sally is a conspiracists!!! Everybody's out to get Everybody!!!! RIGHT???? I was listening to one of those MEDIA biggies or something of another the other day and I heard the discussion about a "Harmonic Convergence"; the Sun, Moon and six out of eight planets being part of the "grand trine", or as I would like to term it........just freak'n poetry in motion. Life being perfect; being in harmony with your inner self and whoever you want to be with or wherever you want to be in this world......... How do you know if you've ever experienced it........the Mayans think that they had it figured out.......but do we? There is probably this one time in your life that you really get happy; is it at the right time or is at the wrong time......another question posed to me; "in all your years of adulthood, how many of those years have you been truly happy?" I shudder to think of the years that I actually admitted out loud........not enough.....but will it be enough.......Again, I read today on the front page of the MSN page about "Happiness Being Overated" with Julia Baird's rendition of her take on the female perception of happiness and how it has evolved from the feminist movement since 1972.....We ARE SOME UNHAPPY BITCHES!!!!! Bluntly put! We've had to conform to what society has expected us to be and and not what we want to be.......In Julia's article she also sites Barbara Ehrenreich's book, Bright-Sided: How Relentless Promotion of Positive Thinking Has Undermined America, calls positive thinking a "mass delusion." She argues that an unrelenting drive to train our brains to overlook problems and blame ourselves for failures has blinded us to inequality, incompetence, and stupidity. hummmmm.....................................all i know is I've been looking for a long time.......and in a brief instance, I thought I had the power to quit blaming myself for my incompetence and stupidity and stand up for myself.......to let the moons take me into that harmonic convergence and let the planets fall where they may........I was riding my own emotions and feeling good about my strength........ Well, you know it's your LUCKY day when you run across an animal named "Lucky"......it has to only mean one thing!!! Either the animal's been lucky or you're gonna get lucky.....(there I go again, crack'n myself up!!!) Anyway, I thought this was a great story because who would have though to put plastic sliders on a mauled Turtle??? Brilliant!!! I love turtles.....of course, I watch Entourage and I love the character "Turtle" on there because he is coming out of his shell so well (he's the one that dates Jamie Lynn Sigler)and he's got hot little babes slobbering all over him while he's going back to college....I think Jamie's gett'n jealous! Anyway, back to Lucky the Turtle; he got a spot on the Today Show with a Full Segment. I have to say that I'm a little slow posting this.......I've been very busy with social duties and wondering about all the Health Issues that our Coercive Government is offering us.....however, during this time, we must relax and enjoy some of the 'FINER', simpler, relaxing, things in life.....and mine are my wonderful shows that take me from reality.......OR THEY COULD VERY WELL BE MY SUB CONSCIOUS LIFE THAT I REALLY DON'T KNOW I HAVE-MAYBE I'M A VAMPIRE???? NOT A WITCH....OR A SHIFTSHAKER!!! Anyway........and the grand Finale of True Blood was Sunday night.......loved it........but I've got to tell ya, I just get giddy when I hear the Opening Credits Theme Song!!!! All in all......it was a mind blowing experience.....to say the least! Enjoyed it....Can't wait till the next season.....I love me some TRUE BLOOD!!!!!!

Gots to start off with my new HomeBoy....Ryan Mallet-little baby QB for the Arkansas Razorbacks......you know, when I heard him first speak on that talk show of the "Voice"...you know......Chuck Barrett's show and I'm listening, drink'n my coffee....I'm hearing this kid with this Michigan accent....I'm think'n "I know that this boy is not a black American (because I had seen pics of him before).......but the kid sounds like Eminem....yeah...Eminem!!!! Rapper....Gansta......Mariah Carey Stalker.....but that's o.k....he's my hero for now....and if you're think'n I'm gonna pull some "Cougar" moves on him or talk some smack about "prey'n" on this 21 year old baby, think again.........really don't have it in me........but I gots me some YAYA's that have some HOT daughters that would love to meet the guy......that is, if he's a good guy and no PLAYA!!!!! My girls ain't no 'SKANKS IN TANKS'.........they are real ladies and don't play games......we've taught them well......So Ryan-if you are need'n a good girl and are tired of all those 'skanks' throwin their trashy selves at ya......give Ms. Sally a hit sometime.........we be fixin' you up RIGHT!!!

Now I must talk about the inspirational shows that I have been watching while on sabbatical. These shows have been very helpful and instrumental in helping me find my way back to, what I believe in finding.........my true inner self! These shows have been very helpful and full of parallel scenarios for the every day 'Cougar' that has lost her ZEAL for FUN or LIFE........they build your confidence and implore your imagination to the utmost extreme peaks of your very well being and ultimately get you back to YOU!!!!! And you know.......isn't that's what it's all about........being one on one with you???? Your self??? This is my mother......I get my craziness and good looks from her side.....well, I take that back! I'm a good hybrid of both my parents; but I have to say, that I get just as much of my crazy wit (and when I say crazy, you can take that any way you see fit; we are not in denial in this family!!)....others may be, but not us....we are quite in tune with what we are and that is one thing my mother has never made any qualms about. She has always been one of those people that is, "what you see is what you get"; yes, she's slowed down a bit and yes, she's grown a little more opinionated; however, I guess that's her right and shall be my right when I reach her age. She has groomed me in to the person I am today; "what you see is what you get". And with what I do on the sidelines, it happens to come in handy; I have alot of admirers that actually praise me for my outspoken cantor and behavior and not playing 'the games'. And for that, I thank her; it's inborn, for sure; we are alot alike and therefore, it has made for a steamy relationship over the years........but I do love her......because she's my momma.....and no matter who tells me how bad I am or how bad of a job I'm doing (even if it's her), I know that deep down I am a good person and a good mother myself; because that's the best lesson of all a mother can teach a daughter; to be and try to be a better mother than she.....and she did her job well. Because I KNOW, in the deepest of my heart, I'm a damn good mother!!!! There he was......laying there wrapped up like a meal for the taking.......At first I walked by, sipping my coffee and avoided the whole facade of it all. I didn't want to go there. Me? I'd never done this before.......it wasn't like I had it in me to stoop to these inner feelings that I know others have had. Yet, something was telling me that today was going to be a whole new day; an awakening. I sipped on my coffee and thought of things that needed to be done; domestic duties that the female persuasion is accustomed to obliging of the rule.......maybe some laundry......or even baking something.....(laugh) that wasn't really me at all. Oh....there again.....he kept peering at me......The one eye.....do I act? Do I go for it? And then like a devastating blow, I found myself enthralled in all the wonder of it all; I was lost in this glory land and ambrosia of what I had been thrown into and like an incubator for what might have seemed like a minute in time and now it had came and I swallowed it up; whole.....and then again....it happened again......like a repetitive doll, I was under the influence and repeated the act to fulfillment! Alas! Alas!!! A new beginning!! It has been awakened in me!!!! There ain't nothing like a warmed up "Pig In the Blanket" People~~I can't believe I just ate TWO of them dang things!!!! Thas some good shizzzzzz!!!!!!!!!! Gets U SUM!!!!!!!!

butter

(slap some of that butter on both sides of that bread and then slap that slice of cheese on that piece of bread...then wrap that little doggie round that bread and you can even punch some toothpicks in there to hold the bread on there if you got a big dog!) Put them puppies in the oven and bake 'em for about 30 minutes on 325 degrees and you got you a delicacy!!! Shoot.....then the next day you can warm 'em up in the microwave just like I just did and have you a RE-treat!!!!!! Good stuff!

Due to Jonah's departure, I have had a terrible time adjusting to every day life; and therefore, I have entered into a period of self therapy and healing.........Jonah was such an inspiration to me in ways I can't fully understand, nor comprehend; however, Virgil does lead me and for now I must linger in the wraths of purgatory and find myself again........the loss is deep and the wounds are excruciating........my tears can not swell no more.......but I feel as though, someday, (in the near future) I will be able to find the true meaning of his demise from the blog world and be able to regain my sense of being........but until then, peace be with you........

The only thing I did sneak a peak at was the Cotton Bowl the other day........and it was just for about 30 minutes right at the end.....and it was just as well because something started rumbling in my stomach and I thought I was going to throw up when I saw Houston Nutt being interviewed after the game in the "Winner's Ring" (if you will; that's so......I don't know how to put it.....) anyway, up on that pedestal.....uh oh......there again.....just don't make sense to say pedestal and Houston Nutt in the same sentence! See.....I can't stay focused when it comes to him: anyway did anyone see the look in his eye when the blond sports announcer was asking him those questions????? Did ya see it....the little twinkle.......I know what he was thinking ........

"God, I want to TEXT YOU!!!!!!" He had that come hither look and I know he was caressing his buttons on his phone in his pocket!!! What's strange is I was walking through a casino after that and a lady from Kentucky was beside me and made mention about how we "shouldn't have let Nutt Go!".........I paused and at first was thinking, "why in the heck does she care....she's from Kentucky!" and then she goes on to say how Petrino is an "Asshole"! I just said, "Honey....they're all assholes........but ya got to remember; I'd rather have an asshole that sticks to just the players and the game than an asshole that likes to play the game and think about the plays later...........!" She was blond (not that there's anything wrong with that), but I don't really think she got what I was saying.........she might eventually.

It's been a long and drawn out Christmas season........remember, if you will.....the merchants started decorating the isles way before Halloween was even over with! Bloomberg.com reported that U.S. retailers’ sales declined last week, the most in almost six years as, steeper markdowns before and after Christmas failed to salvage what may be the worst holiday shopping season in four decades. In the report, it states that some retailer's had to slash prices as high as 70% to try and regain what was left. But you know.....this kind of makes me think back to the pre-Halloween display of Christmas "thrown upon us" and as I've heard time and time again; "Thanksgiving is getting lost in the mix of the holidays!" And it's true......I've always been one of those shoppers that tries and get the majority of my shopping done pre-Thanksgiving or at LEAST by December 1st. It's just been a little challenge of mine that I've had embedded in my brain ever since I've had to go out into the gambit of the monotony of the shopping craze.......and for the record-I'M NOT A SHOPPER! HATE IT WITH A PASSION! If I have to buy something or need something....I go in and get it.....if I can't find it.......I don't need it........improvise! I've walked in to a building supply house before and lit up a whole NEW house in a matter of 30 minutes by just having a list. First decisions are the best decisions, in my book and why shop, shop, shop until you drop?! Ain't got it in me and I ain't got the time for it.....got better things to do with my time! But back to the economic downfall of the retailers---so with everything being displayed early at full price, it kind of hacks me off that me, the introverted shopper that hates crowds, has to pay full price for the crap, that now, I can get at the same price at 70% off! But, such as life.......and with that, I've posted the only picture that I thought suitable for this whole situation! Needless to say, our men in tow were not as impressed with our belligerent crazed actions; but we were feeling the "BUFFINATOR"!!!! Well, my take on this guy is the fact that he's a freak'n, bloom'n idiot! And who in the heck put this guy in a legislative capacity and if he did pull the wool over everyone's eyes in the beginning (which is evident that HE DID!), then why in the heck is he still in there??? I don't get it.......Jim Guy Tucker didn't get off this easy.......Poor Billy Clinton couldn't even have a little 'cigar fun' and 'Devil in Blue Dress' fun without get'n raked over the coals; but this guy makes Jim and Billy look like SAINTS! Here's what I think.......I think he's got a little black book........I think he's taken names and he's gonna blackmail someone if that 'SOMEONE' doesn't bail his ass out soon and he IS meaning really SOON!!! I really think that's what he is bank'n on.......this guy is straight out of one of those old Mafia, Crime movies where he's holding the bag and he's waiting on the big man's phone call to bail him out........But what's really sad here is that the ol' Blagojevich, Wise Guy, has been basically hung out to dry by all the BIG DOG cronies and he's not smart enough to figure it out! I get up.......smack some makeup on.....fluff the do.......and settle in with my java! That's the most important thing to me in the morning is my coffee! Can't live with out it (it'll probably be the death of me); anyway, I'm sip'n on my Maxwell house and scroll'n thru the current events and low and behold something catches my eye. On the MSN Lifestyle in the Well Groomed Male there's a topic that's very luring to me: BRING BACK THE POWER DONUT! It talks about how balding men, in general, have decided to take matters into their own hands and have basically destroyed the work of art that GQ is calling the POWER DONUT; essentially, having the chrome dome on top and the drapes around the sides.......Gerald Ford, Larry David, Al Roker and Ron Howard,
the Grand Marshall of them all, made GQ's Hall of Fame for the Power Donuts! I, for one, could really care less who has what on their heads. In fact, I have to agree with GQ that these men look great and I've never even given it a thought (until now). But if they're gonna bring it up for discussion, let's discuss: The only thing I have to say about it is that it depends on the individuals head shape......with that, I mean, if he's got a freak'n egg head, I really don't want a "skullet", if you will, hanging all over this head (and that would just be my opinion if it were my husband or significant other)! I just wouldn't want the poor guy going out in public look'n like a jerk. Now; lets talk about how GQ is taking away from the baldness of American Men........there's power in the BALD GUY!!! We see it every day.......why can't we have it both ways.......let's not discriminate and lash out at those that DO decide to grab the BIC and take matters into their own hands and just say screw it! After watching 20/20 on ABC Friday Night, Patti Cannady's adamant, resounding words that this was not a random burglary haunts me. Watching the news segment, I listened with intense focus to hear, if any, details that might suggest that it were more than just a random burglary. Within the segment, it recounted this attackers prior victims' story, Kristen Edwards' story of how she too, was attacked in her own home; however, she was.....if you will.......Lucky?.......I hate to even say that word when a crime such is rape is used in the same sentence; however, she was lucky enough to live through her attack and rape. The words from Ms. Edwards were gripping and any woman's worst nightmare when living alone and to have to go through such horror as to what she went through. But thankfully, she is still with her friends and family and she has a long road of recovery ahead of her..........and peace be with her through out this...........but there are still questions for Ms. Pressley's family. Why did her attack from the same suspect go so terribly wrong if, and if, it WAS a random burglary?

I think back to an instance 20 years ago when the same thing happened to a friend of a friend; not only was the circumstances similar, but the way the attack went down; the way her beauty was so brutally taken from her face (beaten beyond recognition), and the brutality of the assault was instrumented; and with the instance of the friend, it was probably a case of a hate crime (and with that, I mean a hate crime upon her as an individual and not by race; the fact that she was hated by her attacker personally seemed obvious because the one thing that was so horribly mutilated on her was her beauty). Like a jealous rage..........

Ms. Pressley's attacker attacked before; he didn't brutally beat Ms. Edwards in the magnitude he did Ms. Pressley.......did he have scratch marks on him? Anne used her fingernails, they say, and that's where they found his DNA; yet nothing was said in the 20/20 interview about there being marks on her attacker's body........he made the statement "I was there but I didn't do this" is chilling......was he there? Was he there as someones "BEARD", if you will; to plant someone else's DNA so the real killer won't be accountable? Does this "prime suspect" have learning disabilities and or is he mentally challenged? I have to ask because he acts like he's not all there and something just isn't adding up with this........sounds to me like someones being set up. But then, that's just a hypothesis because I'm no freak'n CI!

However, I do know this..........it's taken 20 years and still counting to NAIL the person or persons that did this to our dear friend. The CI's have always thought it was a jealous killing upon our dear friend. When someone comes in and beats a beautiful girls face beyond recognition and takes away her life, you have to question why? And it seems more and more obvious to me, it's because someone didn't like her very much and frankly, was probably VERY jealous of her life on Earth. But, you know, there's always that old saying and I have to keep believing, what goes around comes around! And whoever did this to all of these daughters; Anne, Patricia and even Kristen, one day......one day..........the truth shall come out! And when it does, heaven help those that have done these gruesome acts (because they're gonna need it!).

Anne Pressley: What would YOU do if you were Guy Cannady???

In an interview with Matt Lauer yesterday, the Cannady's told Lauer that their daughter, Anne Pressley, slain anchorwoman for Little Rock's KATV's "Daybreak", was sexually assaulted during the break in on October 20th. Anne eventually succumbed to her injuries on October 25th without regaining consciousness. They also revealed in their interview with Lauer that Pressley's jaw bone was beaten so bad that a part of the jaw bone was broken away and also, she had sustained a broken hand during her brutal attack; evidently fighting for her life. She fought the fight......she wasn't suppose to go this way; and yet, for some reason beyond any one's control, she had to leave this earth with her last conscious thoughts of brutality, rape and fear in her beautiful mind. And this is wrong.......because, for one, I did not know Anne personally; yet I did in my mind because I've known people like her that have had to die just as she did..........but yet, their lives, minds and every day life were so much the OPPOSITE of how they expired from the living.......words come to mind like spontaneous, vigorous, innocence, lively, playful, laughing, smiling, intriguing, uplifting, BEAUTIFUL..........I could go on and on...........Put yourself now in the parents place. What would you do??? Would you put it away---the hate, the hurt, the pain in your stomach that can't go away; the want to take matters into your own hands and justify the action with an action????? What would you do if this were your daughter? Look at his face........there's nothing there.......I saw Patti's face (her mom) in the interview and I've heard those exact words so many times...........over and over.........."this person took our daughter.....". And they did............"this person took her innocence........"and they did..........But they will never........NEVER take what was personal; what you and she only knew between you two; the "Parent to Daughter" commodities........can't take away the school plays......can't take away the first date..........can't take away the school proms that you probably spent countless hours getting ready for and what fun that was.........can't take away teaching her to drive.....ride a bike......the first loose tooth.......Santa Clause and the Tooth Fairy talks............learning to walk......changing her diaper.................Nope; they didn't take that and they won't EVER be able to get one grubby, little, nasty finger on those things that are precious to a parent because they are locked in the vault for good and NO ONE can ever unlock those treasures or ever take them from you as parents. That's what I should have been, a lawyer.....more of an Erin Brockovich type, actually.....but with the degree to boot! That's what I am in my mind and, I guess, it's just another one of my sick little alter egos! But with a major, major underwire, push-up bra and some long-ass legs that just cut it up to here! You know- the kind that get Denny and Alan going like no other........I wept last night....wept for Denny.......when Alan got his case to the Supreme Court I was so excited (see how sick I am????)! This is some crazy stuff and I'm on the crazy train to Mad Cow town! The Day After And I'm So Thankful: Anne Pressley's Murderer Caught!

I heard it was going to happen......I heard they were going to arraign "him" (not going to even give him the satisfaction of using his name in my post) the day after Thanksgiving.....I'm so impressed with the police and detective work of the Little Rock Police Department....Lt. Hastings should get an award for the work they have done on this case and evidently, the work, I hope they show to all their unsolved homicide cases. When I watched the ABC Good Morning America coverage on this with Anne's parents, The Cannady's this a.m., I practically wept.......just set their with my head in my hands and wept.....out of gratefulness that they had relief that they KNEW that they were going to be able to look this guy 'eye to eye' and say 'WHY?' and furthermore, be able to get the answers they well deserve. I'm so thankful.......my heart is about to explode.....yet my heart is about to break, as well.........

if only.......if only......twenty years ago the parents of Patricia had had the same Police detective work and out pour of tips........if only...........if only evidence had been collected that would have linked this person and sealed a case.......if only, if only.......things wouldn't have gotten in the way of the detective work...........forensics have come along way in twenty years and what was gathered then can seal a murderer today.............and you never know; we may just be one blood drop away from having Patricia's mother say those words that Anne's mom said......"We have a lot of friends that are going to go with us. We're going to stand together, linked arm-to-arm, to face this man."

I know......ya'll have missed me tremendously! You have no idea what major hurdles and wolves I've been slaying for the past few days have been like! Men and men are going to be the death of me, to say the least; however, I shall prevail! I'm up to my bra-straps in B.S. with egotistical, testosterone lacking, sacks of the male species and trying to get them on the right track has been quiet a burden on me as of late. I shall not cave--however, it does take a toll and so now I'm trying not to drink as much thru the week; I've cut down on the Cubans and the only thing keeping me in touch with reality is my java........so now to what has inspired me today!
O'Bama has made his first move to impress me.......FINALLY......He's finally talked Ms. Hillary in to taking the nom of Secretary of State (hopefully after the Thanksgiving Holiday) and with this smart move on his part, will be just the first of many decisions he will make to satisfy me and make me feel more comfortable with HIS position as our Commander in Chief; but also, in my opinion, will do nothing but create the bridge that we've been looking for and needing for the last eight years to rebuild the relationships that have gone awry in our foreign relationships! As everyone well knows, a woman has a way of being a great mediator and with that.......I give props to O'Bama for seeing the light! As always, there IS ALWAYS A GOOD WOMAN BEHIND A SUCCESSFUL MAN!

As I read James T.'s post On The Virg, I pondered......for a day or two......and with everything that's going on in the outside world and in my own little sick world, I, too have questions about believing and what "is to believe"?! But it all goes back to one thing and one thing only....what's inside and what we feel is right in our hearts......By no means am I a bible thumper; however, I am a very big believer of a "Higher Being"......and with that, I had to open my daily devotional this morning. Novermber 11th......I was needing something to help in this week of uncertainty; and I'm not talking about politics or the world economics-I believe that will work out; we have to trust in the "Higher Being"-don't we or don't we?.....And, I guess in this self imposed uncertainty, I was thinking of myself and food for the soul.....I need "maintenance" for my heart and something to keep me going and for some reason.....I'm not getting it.....however; I do find comfort in these words and I hope someone else who reads this may too:

Psalm 72:6

Amos speaks of the king's mowings. Our King has many scythes, and is perpetually mowing His lawns. The musical tinkle of the whetstone on the scythe portends the cutting down of myriads of green blades, daisies, and other flowers. Beautiful as they were in the morning, within an hour or two they lie in long, faded rows.

Thus in human life we make a brave show, before the scythe of pain, the shears of disappointment, the sickle of death.

There is no method of obtaining a velvety lawn but by repeated mowings:

And there is no way of developing tenderness, evenness, sympathy, but by the passing of God's scythes. How constantly the Word of God compare man to grass, and His glory to its flower. But when the grass is mown, and all the tender shoots are bleeding, and desolation reigns where flowers were bursting, it is the most acceptable time for showers of rain falling soft and warm.

O soul, thou has been mown! Time after time the King has come to thee with His sharp scythe. Do not dread the scythe-it is sure to be followed by the shower.

Hillary, Sarah and Michelle! It's been a long

2 years of campaigning, to say the least.

However, I think the females of the campaign have been an inspiration to all of the females of this country; because, without them, for one, we wouldn't have the hope of one day,

having a perfect United States of America!

And the reason I say that is because, with all due respect to the men of this campaign,

I do honestly believe that woman, by far, out did the men when it came to poise, integrity and composure when it came to the campaign! They made me proud and gave me hope that more women will step up into the political rat race and maybe, JUST MAYBE, we will have an outpouring of estrogen that will infiltrate the political spectrum and basically, take it over! I know I'm reaching somewhat; however, I feel that women are more productive and courageous in their fights for their cause! And they seem to do it without being......well.......let me just say......a stupid horses ass! And they also seem to stick to their guns (Sarah; no pun intended to!) when it comes to the issues at hand. Oh yes; some of you (men) may say "Hillary changed her agenda, how many times???" Well, there's always a reason for everything that a woman does; and of course, we can always say "I'm a woman and that gives me the right to change my mind!". But actually, it's usually because we do our homework and we multi-task in our daily lives and see that things can change in issues and sometimes change is good! But the beauty of the woman on changing her mind is that she will admit it and explain it......men have a tendency to do the 'Ol' Shuck and Jive' and that really slays me! So with that.....my hat is off to the women of the campaign.....it's over and let the new frontier begin! It may not be what some voted for; however, change can be good and let's embrace and look ahead! Poise, Integrity and Composure.......those 3 things are a hard walk to walk in the political world and even in daily life....let's embrace and try it! I try daily and it's damn hard!!!! (by the way, I'm wearing an UP-DOO in honor of Palin today just for her courage!)

Well, today will tell the tale......what will happen in big "Election" land tonight???!!! I guess I've never really been so tired of a campaign year (2 years) in my life! However; tonight is the night! Will we have the Left or will we have the Right? And what is Right and what is Wrong??? I really don't know anymore; in my own experiences in politics it seems to be disheartening, at times.......you bang your head against the concrete blocks and say I'm gonna make a difference and then you're left standing alone.......will or have these candidates ever felt like that? Sure they have.......or at least, one has---the woman, I'm sure of it!!! Has anyone of these candidates ever been hung out to dry by their fellow constituents at the table???? Sure they have.......or at least, one has------the woman. I really think that the "woman in politics" has come along way this year! Hillary and Palin have made great strides and I've posted about this before and before......But I really don't know anymore! I'm losing the spirit of it all! I need an "uplifting" of some sort and I can't quite put my finger on it........I really think I just need to remove myself from all of it and that would probably be the best thing for my health; but then, again......I am not a quitter and unfortunately for me or THEM, that is not good for all that is concerned! So I grow more bitter; more rebellious; more callous; and just plain stupid at times....kind of like my constituents! Oh well, I'll blend in........Peace Out!

Anne Pressley: Like Anne..........

I am so sorry to just now be getting to this post; Betty Jo really got on my case. (Thanks, Betty Jo, for getting me in gear.....) Anne Pressley was a beautiful, 26 year old lively person, daughter, friend to all that knew her. I, for one, did not have the pleasure of knowing her; however, in a way, I feel I do. I'll get to that in a second......but they had her funeral Thursday and my thoughts and prayers, as do the YAYA's, go out to her family and friends. Last night you could have caught a segment on America's Most Wanted (click on this link) that details the specifics on her case. Please visit this link and if you have information please disclose it! The family needs this and this goes back to what I was talking about earlier about feeling like I know her....... If you haven't read my post from way back about Patricia: A friend I have with me daily, then click on this link, as well and that will tell you why; A friend of a friend......

Patricia was 24 when she died (20 years ago this last April); Like Anne, she was full of life, a single girl, living on her own; going to a community college and managing a retail store; she made everyone laugh that was around her. Like Anne, Trish was doted on by her family and loved desperately by her friends.....and like Anne, she was brutally attacked in the early morning before going to work, on a Monday morning to be exact; beat and stabbed and then left for dead. Like Anne, when Trish didn't show up for work that a.m., fellow workers called her mom and she immediately went to check on her daughter at her apartment. Like Anne, she too had to find her beautiful daughter beaten and brutally attacked....but unlike Anne, her mother didn't get a few more days of life; Trish was all ready gone......We hope Anne wasn't hurting in her last days and I'm so glad that at least her mom and dad got to say "I love you" while she was still here with us. We feel for Anne's family like NO OTHER! To this day, the killer of Trish has not been brought to justice; however, someday that justice will come. And, as with Trish, Anne deserves the same justice.....these two girls had so much to give and we will never get to see them walk down the isle; hold their babies; grow old and get wrinkles and that lovely muffin top that we old YAYA's so love to brag on! No--- Anne and Trish will be forever the young, beautiful, vibrant young ladies forever instilled in our minds......they will never change.....they will never wrinkle......but they will never be with us again.........and that's sad! The loss never goes away; time helps, somewhat......but it never heals the pain. Please; if anyone has any information on either of these crimes, click on the links above and report.

I can't even imagine life without them....but then again, I guess I can just go to my local attorny's hideaway and watch all these types of shenanigans go on in full color in front of my own eyes....After all, I do believe, that in all reality, there is an Alan and a Denny in ever gaggle of the Legal Field. In Cougar Land, one likes to watch other Cougars.....sorry if that sounds a little weird, but that's what you do; you watch and learn, ponder and study the same species and their interaction with the environment they are within. And with that being said, I did a study Saturday as I was at a Razorback game....
it wasn't enough that there were Nutt lovers and haters all over the place.....Nutts here and there in all forms; even fence riding Nutts; they were neither yeah or nay on the stand of the "Nutt".....I for one don't really care because I think he's just as obnoxious as the next big baby that sits next to me in a nice, fine, high dollar dining facility! But that's neither here or there; what is here and in our face is BOOBS! As me and a fellow Cougar were sitting there, pre-game, minding our own business sipping on our Crown & Coke (and of course enjoying a good Bolivar Cuban), we couldn't concentrate! They were everywhere! It was like a stampede of 20 somethings coming from out of this world----cleavage from here to there! I'm think'n, "what happened to the mystery?" There were men around us laugh'n at this one or that one that would jiggle by and we would just shake our heads: such kittens, don't they know??? But then again, at that age, I guess if I would have had a chicken quickie mart on every corner of my town, I could have had all those hormones pumped into my body and WALLAH!!! I would have had boobs too, at such a young age........but it's most upsetting that we didn't back then-- and we were stick girls; "A" CUPS in our teens and twenties, "B's" in the 30's and then by the 40's ......well, who needs 'em!!!!! But I guess the best cleavage of all, was you guest it, the man cleavage.....and in a drunk'n man's world, they will never fail us a public display of a beautiful man's cleavage, if given the chance; and we were not disappointed on this day!

Actually his birthday will not be until Sunday, the 26th; however, as a "Cougar", my weekend is filled with many, many extra curricular activities and prowling.....but I can not forget to give a big SALUTE to the man who made me the political advocate (and O'bama, a word to the wise: I've been using that handle WAY longer than you can EVEN flip an adjective at!) that I am today.....yes, I owe alot to my parents. They have set a good base for me; and I kicked and screamed the whole way in my forming years; but now, I'm not in denial and everything they said WAS AND IS TRUE!!! The one thing I wish they would have told me sooner was that life sucks alot; however, you have to make it what it is! And being the pessimist that I am, sometimes gets me down......but I'm still learning and they (my parents) are still listening. That's what's so great about them......they've always listened and not judged or tried to sway when I was damned and determined to do something they didn't agree with.......but they eventually got their say......."the, 'I told you so' look".....in a quiet, sort of manner.......so back to Daddy.....his birthday will be Sunday and have you picked him out yet?? October is such a busy month for a Cougar like me......and sometimes I just feel like throwing myself into the food processor of life; basically, throwing in the towel! I don't know if it's this extra couple of weeks of daylight savings time or what, but insomnia is getting the best of me as of late....couldn't be the extra cocktails late at night and all the coffee and Bailey's......I can't blame it on all that GOOD stuff...can't take all the fun out of it, can I? Maybe this Cougar needs a little R & R with her YAYAS....? That could be it....she could be missing the den of her subjects and the camaraderie of all of the Cougars gathered! But I think it was only a month ago that we swore off each other because it just about killed us all being together because we COUG'ED IT UP SO MUCH!!!!! Took us all a week to get over it! Oh well, enough of the random belly aching....I'm pull'n up my big girl britches and gett'n on with it! I'm hoping that one of my fellow Cougars gives me some good photos over the next couple of weeks to post.....we've got alot going on, us hot things, and you never know what we just might stumble upon in this wonderful world! You know.....I've all ready made myself feel better and I think it's because I talked about my YAYAS.......they're so funny! I'm tell'n ya.......I feel sorry for these little cubs coming up in the world today with all the mean little bitches out there!!!! Cheryl Crow, Christina Applegate and Melissa Etheridge are just a few of the celeb survivors that I'm saluting today and this month......even though Christina is just a mere tot; all of 36 and not quite a full grown Cougar yet, I will let her stand.....because, after all, these ladies are vicious Tigers in my book when you go up against the biggest battle that we, as women, often have to fight; Breast Cancer! And just look at them....they're amazing!!! Christinia is back doing her "Samantha Who" series and looks fabulous; Cheryl has written the forward for Chris Carr's book "Crazy, Sexy, Cancer Tips" since her lump-ectomy and not to mention, toured and had a successful new album this year with "Detours"; and the Grammy award winning Melissa has written songs since her cancer to benefit the cause and was showcased in India Arie's tribute "I'm Not My Hair." Girls, get your butts to the doctor and get that mammogram....mine is coming up next month; I always dread it; but feel a since of relief and victory when I'm done because I know that I took one for the team.....just remember Melissa at the Grammys in February singing Janis Joplin's "Piece of My Heart".....if these Cougars can get through all of this, we can get a mammogram for them! I don't buy into that. Let's get real....whether she's made of plastic, dolled up in whatever extravagant avangard she may be wearing today, that doesn't give them the right to say "hey, the bitch pissed me off; so I'm not gonna save the economy!" What in the hell do we have up there??? A bunch of nutless, guys; or was this just a freak'n scare me tactic by the administration to scare everyone, including the Repub's and Dem's to vote for this??? I'm beginning to wonder....this shake down has been in the works all week and the people have been scared to death ALL week and Bush has been saying this is the 'fix all of it all!' ---The administration has been delivering fright speeches on how 'if it's not passed' and 'this will save the economy if passed', blah, blah, blah all week; no wonder the DOW WENT TO POT TODAY!!!!!!!!.......but I DON'T WANT TO HEAR, "BLAME IT ON THE WOMAN'S SPEECH!" I know.......ya'll have missed my beautiful and intellectual prose for almost a week and I apologize! But you know, I'm just down right sick of it all; ECONOMY, ELECTION, DEBATE, SHUCK AND JIVE, THIS ONE/THAT ONE BEING THE IDIOT! Not to mention, I have a life myself! Things have been hectic in ol' Cougarville and quite frankly, I'm drained! Too many men and not enough to hate in my life.....don't get me wrong, I love them when I need them; however, they can be such a burden at times when the female persuasion is trying to deal with life as their "rock" and they are........well, let's just say, FREAK'N HELPLESS, SAPLESS, CHILDREN that don't have a clue at times how dumb they are! I would do anything in the world for a man in my surroundings and do it to my utmost potential; however, don't dare judge me or make me feel that I'm beneath thinking as an individual on YOUR LEVEL!!! I've been around the block a time or two in my life and will NOT BACK DOWN, as Tom Petty would say (or screech!) and I don't need a male making me feel like a dumb ass in the thick of things........So there......The Cougar has growled and let her ROAR! It seems that Katie Couric will be spending some time with "Updooed" Sarah Palin while on the Republican campaign trail. Couric has been "awarded" (snicker) the honor (snicker, again) of getting to ride with McCain and Palin a couple of days and then will air the crap, I mean coverage, on September 29th and 30th on the "CBS Evening News" and if you are a morning person and can stomach the gruesomeness, you can also see it on the "Early Show" on CBS. The only reason they gave the story to Couric is evidently because the McCain/Palin camp is a little out of sorts with "MSNBC" and the man-crush that Keith Olberman has on Obama. So with that, they went and grabbed Couric (Pawn#2) for the Pawn Palin#1 interview and knocked NBC's Brian Williams way out of the saddle!!! Boy that'll teach'em..........won't it!!!! LOLOLOL!!!!

As usual, over the java and the smoke filled room, I had enjoyable morning watching FACE THE NATION yesterday morn. It was quite entertaining watching the Ol'Bob Schieffer take on the LADIES this a.m. It was hilarious!!! LUV IT, LUV IT! But I especially loved one of the ladies on there: Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (Dem).....actually, this was the first I have heard of her probably in a long time and frankly, I LIKE HER ATTACK!!!!! She knew her stuff and she pulled NO PUNCHES!!! When I first heard her speak, I kind of got a little scared cuz she actually has a low, wispy voice! (I think she must have java and smokes every morning too before she takes out in her mini-van to drop kids off!!!) However, I agree with what she said as far as the media asking the questions of MS. PALIN....sorry, she's gonna have to answer some questions about her history and foreign policy, whether she likes it or not; that would be for any candidate whether man or woman. (and I take offense to Palin that she's feeling a little "DIS-RESPECTED" by these or ANY questions.....she said yes to the task-if you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen! Oh dear, did I just dis-respect someone??? Come on!!!) You know what; we're women, and as Hillary did and Palin is SUPPOSE to be doing; are setting the bar for women in the big tickets this year. Hillary had to go all through this mud sling'n and scrutiny, blue dress mess, cigar toke'n slander and SHE stayed the course. What's wrong Palin??? My goodness; you've got to at least think and KNOW, as a woman, you're gonna be treated differently....you're blaze'n a trail! Get over it; unless you're hiding from the issues! And if that's the case, then HANG YOUR APRON UP AND GET OUT OF THE KITCHEN......

Little Rock, Arkansas: Seth Russell, 15, of Crossett, was hit by a flying Asian Silver Carp in the face and knocked unconscious, while inner tubing behind a boat on Lake Chicot this weekend!!! First of all, who hasn't tubed behind a boat???? That's what kids do in Arkansas! Second,; how in the heck would it feel to have one of these MONSTERS flop you in the face and break your jaw??? One second he was tubing, having a blast and the next thing he knew, he was waking up in the hospital with his jaw wired shut! What a weekend!

The next time you're cruising the waters of Arkansas, beware....you never know what might smack you in the face and get fish guts all over ya!
